That was one hell of a trip back home compounded by fog in Melbourne and a couple of knuckleheads on the plane who kept the plane awake with a vomiting performance unlike anything seen or heard before. The plane pulled into Sydney because of the fog and we effectively got home 3 hours late but that was the least of our problems.

Within an hour of flying out of LA these two twins in their early 20’s who were sitting directly in front of us, just started throwing up into the barf bags. Not just any spew, these were accompanied by guttural dry heaves that could only come from food poisoning. Just as you were dropping off into a deep sleep you were awoken by these giant wretches that echoed down the aisles. At one stage the captain asked if there was a doctor or nurse on the plane. I’ve only ever heard that in movies! A nurse next to us tried to help but to no avail so this went on for 14 hours!

When we arrived in Sydney they were taken off the plane for some treatment. When they returned I asked “The Chuck Brothers” if they had food poisoning as I’ve endured that before from the Old England Hotel and ended up in The Austin for a few hours. They said that it was air sickness. I asked if they had it going over to the States and they contemptibly replied, “Yeah but not as bad.” So they actually knew they suffered air sickness and did nothing to prepare for it. “I know what we can do brother Chuck! Let’s take our pre-diagnosed illness onto a long haul flight and see how many paying customers we can piss off!” To add salt to the wound, these two cretins sat on the back of one of those golf carts that normally take the elderly and infirm through Melbourne International and smiled as they disappeared into the distance. They should have their passports revoked.

Anyway, it’s nice to be home. I’m just going to dig into the archives and see if there’s any photos worth putting in. Like the other entries, this is really just self- interest as I’m definitely destined to have dementia down the track so it’s important to record this stuff for posterity. Cheers.
